Mayor of Lake Worth recognizes the Guatemalan Maya, saying "mi casa es su casa"

On Saturday September 30th, celebrations for the Fiesta de San Miguel were kicked off with a ceremony between Mayor Pam Triolo and members of our Guatemalan Maya community. The Mayor was invited to dress in traditional Mayan clothing & recognized the importance of our community in Lake Worth, announcing “mi casa es su casa.” Members of our community also spoke about the history of the Maya in Lake Worth. With the help of the city, we are working tirelessly to ensure that everyone in Lake Worth is counted and recognized through the census.
