Lawsuit Hearing

Today, Thursday, September 26th, at 1:00pm the SB168 lawsuit will have its hearing for a preliminary injunction (PI). SB168 is a new Florida law that purports to give ICE authority to conscript local police officers into performing immigration enforcement functions. In prohibiting sanctuary policies it is unconstitutional and will hurt the most vulnerable Floridians. Getting a good ruling after this hearing will be critical to ensuring that immigrant families stay united and that local police prioritize keeping communities safe rather than doing ICE's work. We will be asking U.S. District Judge Beth Bloom to issue a preliminary injunction that prohibits state and local officials from enforcing this law.

Join us for a PRESS CONFERENCE outside of the downtown Miami courthouse at 11:00am to remind Floridians that IMMIGRANTS ARE HERE
