MI CASA ES TU CASA.

At TGMC, we proudly serve families from over 28 different countries, many of who have escaped violence and sought asylum so that their children might live safely. Today, our families are being met with violence once again as law enforcement brutalizes and detains them without due process.

In the past few months we have suffered the consequences of the anti-immigrant policies taking place in Florida. Families are being separated at an alarming rate and school attendance is being significantly impacted. Palm Beach County is a hotspot for immigration pick-ups.

High school student Kenny Laynez went viral after he was wrongfully detained by FHP when they racially profiled him while in a landscape truck on his way to work. He is a U.S. citizen going into his Senior Year of high school.

MI CASA ES TU CASA.

At TGMC, we proudly serve families from over 28 different countries, many of whom sough asylum so that their children might live in safety. Now, our families are once again facing the violence they escaped from. Families are being separated at an alarming rate, often brutally beaten and detained by law enforcement. Palm Beach County is a hotspot for immigration pick-ups and school attendance is being significantly impacted.

High school student Kenny Laynez went viral after he was wrongfully detained by Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) when they racially profiled him while in a landscape truck on his way to work. He is a U.S. citizen going into his Senior Year of high school.

15-year-old Yenifer was being driven to school by her father when he was detained by FHP and ICE, who brutally assaulted him. As Yenifer pleaded with immigration authorities to stop hurting her dad, they began to pepper spray the child to the point that she was sent to the hospital. Her dad was taken that same day and has since been deported.

Two little girls had their house raided in the night by FHP, ICE and 27 Palm Beach Sheriff's officers because their father had a warrant for his arrest. Their door was knocked down and all the windows were broken into. As our team was boarding up their windows at midnight, the children’s Elementary School homework was still on the bed with shattered glass covering it. Officers took 7 people total that night, 6 of them had no criminal record and were detained as "collateral damage". We received information about the warrant the following day from PBSO — he was taken for a traffic infraction.

These are just a few of the cases we have on video. Every single day we get calls about families who are seperated, men who have work permits being detained, and our neighbors getting brutally beaten for seeking safety in a new land.

We remind our families, my home is your home. We are here to help.
