Did you know that children who fall behind grade level are 25% more likely to drop out of high school and 70% more likely to be arrested for a violent crime? That's why we are working to solve these problems at the source! Our VPK, Preschool, After School, and ParentChild+ programs all promote academic success while empowering parents to be the first teacher of their child.

Our Escuelita Maya VPK and preschool programs were established in 2011 to help facilitate the Florida Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program to children of families in under served communities.

The education of underprivileged children helps promotes future academic success and empowers parents to be the first teacher of their child.

Thanks to funding from the Early Learning Coalition of Palm Beach County and generous donors, we are proud to offer free VPK and low-cost preschool for over 80 children at two locations.

Since 1998, we've provided low-cost after school and summer care designed to support our students physical, social and emotional needs. We schedule homework help, independent reading and age-appropriate activities while providing breakfast, lunch and snacks daily.

During the summer, our children participate in summer camp activities in coordination with high school students from SALTT (Service and Leardership Today and Tomorrow), a service club at Immaculata-La Salle High School.

Our after school and summer programs are primarily funded by the Early Learning Coalition of Palm Beach County and donors just like you.

With our organization’s mission always in mind, we strive to find new strategies for dealing with challenges. Our ParentChild+ is a research-based early literacy and school readiness home visiting program for families with children ages 2-4 years old.

ParentChild+ in-home approach makes it convenient for under-served families isolated by poverty, language barriers, and lack of transportation to participate in high quality, educational early childhood services.

Each family is matched with an early learning specialist who shares the family’s cultural background and language. The visits are a half-hour, twice-a-week over a two-year period, and are scheduled at a time that is convenient for the family.

Every week, our early learning specialists brings a new high-quality book or educational toy as gift to the family. Using the book or toy, our visitor models, in the family’s native language - reading, conversation, and play activities designed to facilitated parent-child interaction. This method helps to promote the development of the verbal, cognitive, and social-emotional skills that are critical for children’s school readiness and long-term school success.

Currently, our ParentChild+ program is providing virtual home visits through video calls to help reduce the spread of Covid-19.

All of our Escuelita Maya instructors are qualified and certified by the Department of Children and Families. We schedule homework help and independent reading everyday as well as a variety of age-appropriate activities to support our students' physical, social and emotional needs. Breakfast, lunch and snack are provided daily.
