Join us at the Palm Beach Photographic Centre this Friday, June 26 from 6-8 PM for the “Picture My World” exhibit.

Picture My World, a program of the Palm Beach Photographic Centre, uses digital photography and journaling as a tool to reach “at risk” youth in Palm Beach County. For the last nine months we partnered with Lake Worth’s Guatemalan-Maya Center in a unique way. We have incorporated photography and writing into the lives of a group of teenagers who are recent immigrants to our community from Central America. Through the lens of their cameras and journal entries, they have much to tell about Lake Worth, the eclectic town where they now reside, a place where all are welcome. In that process, the young immigrants teach us about their harrowing voyage to reunite with their families and be protected.

Picture My World is a community outreach program sponsored in part by Friends of Marjorie Neu and will open on June 26 and run through August 15.
