The Parent-Child Home Program (PCHP) is one of the most intensive home visiting programs in the country. Twice weekly home visits provide new books, educational toys and activities to families with preschool children. Home Visitors role model for parents how to appropriately use the program materials with their children to promote verbal interaction, parent-child bonding and school readiness
PCHP, an evidence-based early literacy, parenting, and school readiness model, is committed to closing the achievement gap by providing low-income families the skills and materials they need to prepare their children for school and life success.
The Guatemalan-Maya Center currently serves 101 families throughout Palm Beach County.
The Parent-Child Home Program is coordinated by the Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County through the sponsorship of Children’s Services Council and in partnership with The Guatemalan -Maya Center.
